My mother-in-law swears every year that it will be her last, preparing for the many holiday meals.
We all appreciate her cooking so much, we want to help clean up just so we can pack up and set aside our favorite leftovers.
(It's worth mentioning that the home made pasta goes home with the son of the year.)
Since we've been super-spoiled with such good eats for so long, the time has come, for some new, "in-house" traditions of our own. (A gradual, "tastebud transition" if you will).
Its not easy satisfying seven different pallets during one breakfast, especially while kids are still high from the recent present-rush.
Out of the five dishes I made, the overall winners were...... (drum-roll please........ )the cinnamon buns I prepared using Pepperidge Farm Pastry Sheets.
Maybe next year I will step it up and dissolve a couple of yeast packets and see how they like my buns then.
I can only hope one day someone will steal my Tupperware and sneak out their "favorite", whether it be my sausage & egg casserole, biscuits made from scratch, tender baked ham, or cheese grits.
But I'll settle for help with the dishes-
